Our Youth Shine Thanks to You!
South Shore Drill Team members work diligently year-round, from marching in parades to dancing onstage. They perform at high-profile events and dozens of school celebrations, health fairs, peace rallies and community events.
The team’s mission extends far beyond entertainment. While 85% attend Chicago Public Schools where the graduation rate for Black males is less than 65%, South Shore Drill Team members have achieved 100% graduation since 2012, and nearly all go on to college or technical school. Proud alumni include teachers, lawyers, police officers, firefighters, entrepreneurs and medical professionals all giving back to the community. Many alumni have followed their dreams in the arts field, like Andrew Law who won an Emmy in January and Terrell Allen who just released his film about antisemitism.
As a donor, YOU are a key part of this journey for these amazing youth. Your contributions help us teach the value of hard work and teamwork, dedication and focus. The valuable skills they learn as performers keep them moving toward greatness in life.
